I Just Wanted You To Know.

I thought youd want to know that the Old Cat died the other day.
He was hungry and hurt when we found him.
Did you worry what happened?
Was he loved and missed by your family? Im sorry if that was so.
But we cared for him and fed him and I just wanted you to know.

I thought youd want to know what a great pet he became as the years went on.
He was gentle and affectionate with my family and the other cats.
Did you get tired of him?
Was he too much work, too big, too old? Im sorry if that was so.
But he gave back so much more than we gave to him and I just wanted you to
know.

I thought youd want to know that I never thought he was a homeless cat.
He knew what the couch was for and the vacuum never bothered him.
Did you have to move?
Did you get sick and have no one to care for him? Im sorry if that was so.
But he was happy, safe and cherished and I just wanted you to know.

I thought youd want to know that we miss him so much it hurts.
Did you get another cat thinking he was gone forever? Did you ever think of him and cry?
Please know that he was cared for, pampered and loved every day and
Im not sorry that was so.
He was our beloved Old Cat and I just wanted you to know.
